Understanding Liftgate Fees in Trucking

What is a liftgate fee and when is it charged?

A liftgate fee is charged when a liftgate is required for unloading cargo. It is an additional cost incurred in trucking services.

Why would a liftgate fee be added to a trucking service?

A liftgate fee is added when the final delivery location lacks a loading dock, necessitating the use of a liftgate to unload the cargo safely.

Are there other unloading fees besides the liftgate fee?

Yes, besides the liftgate fee, there can be other unloading fees, such as fees for using a pallet jack. These fees may also be included in the Liftgate & Other Trucking Fee.

How is the liftgate fee displayed in a Beeontrade quote or invoice?

The liftgate fee, if applicable, will be shown as a destination charge on your Beeontrade quote or invoice.

If a liftgate was required, a trucker would charge a liftgate fee. If the final delivery location lacks a loading dock, we shall request that the trucker provide a liftgate (so that the cargo can be unloaded). For this service, the trucker charges an additional liftgate cost. Similar unloading fees, like a pallet jack, may also be included in the Liftgate & Other Trucking Fee. A liftgate fee, if applicable, will show up as a destination charge on your Beeontrade quote or invoice.
