What is Pre-Pulling in Trucking?

Pre-pulls occur when a trucker pulls an FCL container from the port and stores it in his or her yard rather than delivering it right away.

Why is Pre-Pulling Required?

If you can't accept a delivery before the Last Free Day or if your ultimate delivery destination needs an appointment, a pre-pull can help you avoid expensive demurrage penalties.

How is Pre-Pulling Charged?

A pre-pull will, if applicable, be included as an Origin or Destination Charge on your invoice.
