What is a ULD (Unit Load Device)?

A ULD (unit load device) is a tool used to transport cargo during airfreight transport. It is designed specifically to condense goods for faster loading onto an airplane.

What are the Two Main Types of ULDs?

Containers and pallets are the two main types of ULDs.

How is Air Freight Combined with ULDs?

An airline may accept loose air cargo tenders. The airline will then load the air shipment into a ULD alongside other cargoes.

Can Shippers Reserve and Self-Load ULDs?

Yes, shippers have the option to reserve a ULD container and self-load it. The complete ULD can then be picked up by a trucker at the destination and delivered to a warehouse for deconsolidation.
