What is CBP Form 3461?

CBP Form 3461, also known as the Customs Release form, is a document submitted electronically to U.S. Customs to request the release of a shipment.

Why is CBP Form 3461 important?

It serves as the initial request for shipment release and can determine if the shipment undergoes a customs exam.

What is CBP Form 7501?

CBP Form 7501, also referred to as the Customs Entry form, provides detailed information about the shipment, including:

  • Value of the goods
  • Applicable duties and taxes
  • Classification of the goods based on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule

Why is CBP Form 7501 important?

It is used by U.S. Customs to calculate duties and taxes owed on imported goods.
